Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad

Meet at the airport, transfer to the hotel, and rest. If arrival is during the daytime,
enjoy a city tour of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Overnight in Islamabad

Day 2 – Islamabad to Gilgit

Early morning scenic flight to Gilgit, offering dramatic views of the Hindu Kush and western Himalaya ranges. The flight takes about one hour.
Transfer to the hotel for check-in and breakfast. Afterwards, enjoy a short tour around Gilgit town, including a visit to the ancient 7th-century Buddha rock carving in Basin Valley.
Note: If the flight is cancelled or delayed due to weather, we will travel by road instead.
Overnight in Gilgit or Chilas (subject to flight status)

Days 3 & 4 – Gilgit to Ghizer Valley

Drive west to Ghizer Valley beneath the towering Hindu Kush mountains. The road passes through dramatic landscapes, and the terrain becomes rugged.
Stop at Gupis Valley to explore the area, visit Khalti Lake, enjoy scenic views, and meet locals.
Continue to Phander Valley, considered the most beautiful valley of the Hindu Kush. Spend time in the village and visit the stunning blue Phander Lake.
The Ghizer River is known for its trout—fresh trout dinner is a highlight!
Overnight in Ghizer

Day 5 – Ghizer Valley to Hunza Valley

Drive along the legendary Karakoram Highway, making photo stops at:

  • Ancient Silk Route traces

  • Continental Plate Collision Point (Indian & Eurasian plates)

  • Rakaposhi Viewpoint (7,788 m), rising above Nagar Valley

  • In Hunza, visit the 700-year-old Baltit Fort, former residence of the Hunza ruler.
    In the afternoon, enjoy sunset views from your hotel in Karimabad, the capital of Hunza Valley, surrounded by snow-capped peaks.

    Day 6 – Attabad Lake • Hussaini Bridge • Passu Glacier

    Explore Upper Hunza:

  • Attabad Lake (formed in 2010 by a landslide) – stop for photography or optional boating

  • Hussaini Hanging Bridge – famous suspension footbridge, a fun adventure

  • Borit Lake

  • Short hike to Passu Glacier

  • (Those who prefer not to hike can relax at Borit Lake Restaurant)
    Overnight in Passu

    Day 7 – Khunjerab Pass (4,700 m) – Pakistan/China Border

    Drive to Khunjerab Top (4,700 m), the highest international border crossing in the world and the end of the Karakoram Highway in Pakistan.
    Travel through Khunjerab National Park, where wildlife such as Karakoram ibex, Himalayan marmot, and possibly the rare snow leopard may be seen.
    Spend time at the border for photography, then return to Karimabad.
    Overnight in Karimabad, Hunza

    Day 8 – Karimabad • Gilgit • Besham

    Begin the long road journey back towards Islamabad via the Karakoram Highway. Break the journey at Besham to split the long drive.
    If traveling between June and early October:
    Take the shorter Babusar Pass route.
    Stops en route:

  • Junction Point of the three great mountain ranges: Karakoram, Hindu Kush, and Himalayas

  • Nanga Parbat Viewpoint (8,126 m) – the second-highest peak in Pakistan


  • Overnight in Besham or Naran (depending on Babusar Pass road status)

    Day 9 – Besham/Naran to Islamabad

    Continue the road journey to Islamabad. Stop for lunch in Abbottabad.
    Total travel time: approximately 7–8 hours.
    Transfer to the hotel upon arrival and rest.

    Day 10 – Islamabad City Tour & Departure

    Explore the capital city, including:

  • Faisal Mosque – the largest mosque in Pakistan

  • Lok Virsa Museum – showcasing cultural heritage of urban and rural Pakistan

  • Pakistan Monument – petal-shaped granite structure symbolizing national unity

  • Enjoy shopping in Islamabad, then transfer to the airport 3 hours before your international departure.
